This is an excellent author especially for liberals who believe that Islam is a peaceful religion and the only ones with violent tendencies are the extremests. Mainly I recommend the Infedel. Has anyone read this?

I have only skimmed thru the beginning of the book. I am afraid I will get extremely p o'd if I read the whole thing and nobody will be able to deal with me.

I knew a nice lady from Somalia. I cannot deal with the twits around me, some native born, others from elsewhere, who say you can't discipline kids in the U S as you will be falsely accused of child abuse or some other such babble. This nice lady had a little boy she didn't have other arrangements for, so she brought him to the class with us. He was so quiet and well behaved the instructor started talking to him.

I know the book starts with the female genital mutilation forced on the very young so that when they come of age they not only cannot enjoy sex, but may be everything from prone to urinary tract infections to death in childbirth. This ritual did not originate with Islam, but unfortunately the Muslims who took over in those communities, rather than calling the practice an outrage and ridding themselves of it, simply absorbed it into their way of life. Why don't some of these so called feminists both here and in the Islamic world get off of their fascination with the veil and protest female genital mutilation?!

While I knew a nice Somali lady, this community in Minnesota has caused trouble. Some taxi drivers from that nation wanted to exclude everyone from those carrying duty free liquor to blind folks with guide dogs from cab rides. Some of these knuckleheads even wanted to put different colored lights on top of their cabs, each color representing a type of person they didn't want to do business with as it violates their religion. The Minnesota Cab Commission got tough and told them, "Look, this is the U S, and you live here. If you wish to operate cabs here, you will give ANYONE WHO IS PAYING YOU FOR A RIDE...a ride to where they want to go." Whew...it takes a lot of nerve to settle in a nation where some are the minority and ask the majority to culturally accommodate them and I am just as sick of it as the Cab Commission!

Hello,

This lady explains her views on Islam as she sees things. Her writing is powerful and may get a lot of people more in tuned to reality. Growing up in a country where Islam is practiced, I've seen and observed much of what she discusses in her novel. Again, I recommend it.
